ABOUT US

SDY Consultants is led by Managing Director, Steven Day. With more than 20 years’ experience in the sport, charity & community sectors, Steven brings expert knowledge, insight and a solutions-focused approach. 

Previous roles include Head of Grassroots Development at The Football Association, Chief Executive of Fulham FC Foundation and Director of Community Development for a major Multi Academy Trust.  

Steve has considerable non-executive board experience in sport. He is a Non-Executive Director at sport-tech company Playfinder and previously held roles with English Football League Trust, Active Surrey and UEFA. Steve also brings prior experience from previous roles with Sport England, Youth Sport Trust, local & central Government.

Tim Smith – Senior Associate

Tim is an impact specialist with experience spanning international federations, national governing bodies, clubs, major events and charities.

Tim is the Managing Director of Evid Impact and a board director at Spirit of 2012. In addition to founding Evid Impact, Tim has worked for UK Sport, UEFA, The FA, Sportcal and the University of Birmingham.

Sarah Nickless – Associate 

Sarah is a sports development consultant and current programme lead specialising in youth voice, leadership and workforce. She has led the creation and implementation of youth leadership strategies and sport governance development whilst working with The FA, The Association of Colleges and regional governing bodies servicing grassroots sport.

Sarah plays a important role on a range of SDY projects, focussing on project reviews, youth voice and wider project support.
